Thank you very much. I was able to export a custom file perfectly.

I am also trying to open the file automatically from another program. Unfortunately running a RVB file from windows merely opens a new instance of rhino, it does not automatically run the script. Have you ever tried to run a script automatically like this?

    www.rhinoscript.org/scripts/10

I will give that a try. How about saving it as a text file?

if you want to get a string... try & instead of +.

    "The coordinates are " & dblXcoordinate & "," & dblYcoordinate & "," & dblZcoordinate

Sorry I hit submit too soon.

To continue: I new to vbscript and rhinoscript, and am running into some very simple errors. The most pressing right now is how to export a simple text file that includes doubles. It is simple to export

"My name is " + strName

    but how do I export

    "The coordinates are " + dblXcoordinate + "," + dblYcoordinate + "," + dblZcoordinate

    without an error?

I am trying to automate a process of inporting and exporting information from rhino.
